Methodology

The poll was conducted by telephone on May 19 and 20, 2007; May 25 and 26, 2007; and June 2 and 3, 2007, of voters from across Japan using a three-stage random sampling method (the Asahi RDD). The total number of those polled was 993 on May 19-20, with a 55% response rate; 1031 on May 25-26, with a 61% response rate; and 1045 on June 2-3, with a 58% response rate.
