William R. Golike

International Trade Specialist, Office of the Pacific Basin, International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce

 

OBJECTIVE: Develop a deeper understanding of Japan’s economic and trade priorities, including Japan’s role in regional trade groupings and how the Japanese government is working through these organizations to improve economic relations; examine the Japanese government’s decision-making in providing aid and trade capacity building to less developed countries in Southeast Asia

OBJECTIVE: Gain a firsthand understanding of the Japanese regulatory system related to public health, in order to assist with international cooperative public health activities and be a resource to the FDA in the future.

OBJECTIVE: Attain an in-depth perspective on Japan’s trade policy, particularly with developing nations; cultivate U.S.-Japan business relationships, and gain insight into Japan’s social and economic policies in developing countries.
