Teng Margaret Fu serves as the Program Associate at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation where she manages its China programs and supports the Foundation’s new initiatives in energy and the environment. Her responsibilities also include managing the Corporate Affiliates Program. Prior to joining the Mansfield Foundation, she worked at the International Office of AARP and the Campaign Finance Institute in Washington, D.C. Margaret was also an intern at the Department of Political Affairs at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and Greenpeace USA in D.C. She holds a B.A. degree from the Foreign Affairs College (China Foreign Affairs University) in Beijing, China and an M.A. degree from The Catholic University of America (CUA). Currently, she is completing a Ph.D. dissertation on dams and transnational advocacy from the perspective of political opportunity structures in the social movement literature at CUA, where she has been a teaching/research assistant and taught courses on the Chinese government and politics. Her areas of specialization include sustainable development in China, the development of civil society, and transnational collective action on the environment and energy issues. She has published scholarly papers and articles on globalization, the environment, and China’s public policy issues.
