Kazumi Noguchi
Research Associate
Kazumi Noguchi is a research associate at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation where she assists in research and administrative projects. Before she joined the Foundation, she worked as an intern at the District Attorney’s Office of Los Angeles County, California, and served as a volunteer for the Japan Association of Cultural Exchange.
Dr. Noguchi holds a Ph. D. from the Yokohama National University in International Development. Her dissertation focused on the roles of local government and NGOs in health care policy in Brazil. While working on her Ph.D., Dr. Noguchi was a research intern at the Kanagawa Volunteer Support Center, where she conducted research on health care NPOs in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Dr. Noguchi is currently teaching a course on international cooperation at the Saitama Prefectural University and another course on Japanese politics and government for the fellows from the developing nations at Japan International Cooperation Agency, both as a part-time lecturer. She was a working member of the Yokohama National University-United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies Joint Program in the Education for the Sustainable Development. She has co-authored an article on Japanese civil society and governance.
